Some printers use ink to clean the print head if you rarely use the device for its intended purpose. This device uses a lot of ink to do this – it uses 286% more ink than continuous use, and the cost per page printed is several times higher if you use the printer a couple of times a week. The strength of this model is printing photos and color charts and graphs, but it also did quite well with text. However, when the task is to print a combination of text and color images, the results are a little less impressive. Not only does this printer print well, it prints fast. It will print 5 pages of text in less than half a minute, and an 8 by 10 photo with margins in less than 2 minutes. If you need to make a copy, this model does a fine but long job, especially with a color picture: in 68 seconds we got a copy of excellent quality. With scanning, however, Canon MG5655 coped worse – we scanned a photo and it came out a bit washed out. This printer also automatically prints on both sides of the paper, which will save at least on this consumable. You can also send documents to print via Wi-Fi, Apple AirPrint, and Google Cloud Print.
